About · How we track prices
Data, not opinions.
SqueezeFactor is a price and spec index for affordable anamorphic and cinematic lenses, not a review site. We log official-store prices once a day, keep every snapshot, and judge "deals" against our own price history instead of the store's "was" price.

We have not tested these lenses
We have not shot with the lenses listed here. Specs, mounts and descriptions of look and flare come from manufacturer information and press coverage. Where we could not confirm a value, the lens page marks it "not confirmed". We have not received free lenses from any manufacturer.
Which stores we check
Prices come from the brands' own official stores:
- Sirui (store.sirui.com)
- Blazar (store.blazarlens.com)
- Viltrox (viltrox.com)
- DZOFilm (store.dzofilm.com)
- SLR Magic (slrmagic.com)
Lenses with a daily tracked price are marked "tracked", and all tracked lenses are on the watchlist. For the others we show the manufacturer's list price as we checked it on 2 Nov 2026, labelled "list price", or nothing if there is none.
Not tracked yet: Laowa (its store does not allow automated checks), Vazen (its official site served unrelated spam pages when we checked, so we do not link it), and retailers such as B&H and Adorama. We track new prices, plus Sirui's own open-box listings, which we label "open-box (Sirui store)". Everything else is the new-condition price.
How prices are collected
- Once a day. A small script reads each store's public product data (the product feed the store publishes, or the structured product data on the product page). Tracking started on 2 Nov 2026.
- Politely. It follows each store's robots.txt, identifies itself as a price bot, and waits at least 3 seconds between requests.
- Every snapshot is kept, so price history can't be rewritten later.
- Single lenses only. We map each store variant (mount, flare colour, focal length) to a lens. Sets and kits are excluded. Prices are for new lenses. The one exception is Sirui's own open-box ("B-Ware") listings, shown on the lens page labelled "open-box (Sirui store)" and never counted as deals.
- The price we show is the cheapest variant that is in stock, in US dollars as the store lists it. Most of these stores quote prices without VAT, import duties or shipping, so the checkout total can be higher. The price at checkout is the one that counts.
How we judge a deal
- Our baseline is the first price we logged for each lens (2 Nov 2026), before any Black Friday promotions. "Unchanged since 2 Nov" means the price has not moved since then.
- The store's "was" price (strike-through, or "compare-at") is set by the store. We show it as the store's claim, never as a verified MSRP, and we do not highlight it as a discount.
- After 7 or more days of history, the deals pages compare today's price with the 30-day median of our own snapshots.
How the site is funded
No affiliate programmes are active yet: every buy button links straight to the store, without tracking parameters. Some links may become affiliate links later. If you then buy through one, the store may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you, and those links will be marked as advertising where German law requires it. See the affiliate disclosure.
The newsletter is sent with Kit (kit.com) and uses double opt-in. Details are in the privacy policy.
