Look and character
With a 1.33x squeeze, the image is optically compressed horizontally by 1.33× and stretched back in post. That gives these desqueezed aspect ratios, by recorded area:
- 16:9 sensor area → 2.36:1
- 3:2 sensor area → 2.00:1
- 4:3 sensor area → 1.77:1
Horizontally, a 25 mm 1.33x lens covers roughly the width of a 19 mm spherical lens on the same format (focal ÷ squeeze); vertically it stays 25 mm.
